Boys Little Laxers 2023

First-Year Players in Kindergarten, First or Second Grades:

Program Description:

All first-year boys players in Kindergarten, first, or second grade will be placed in the Little Laxers program. Little Laxers will be divided into small team groups, and proceed through station-based practice sessions to learn lacrosse fundamentals in a fun environment.  All Little Laxers will practice once a week, at the same time, on the same field.

Getting You Ready for Spring Season:

Free Boys Clinic on March 5,2023 at Alexandria City High School Turf 

8U and 10U 12:30PM -1:45PM

12U 2:00PM -3:00PM

14U 3:15PM -4:15PM 

The focus will be on: Grip, Dodging, Shooting Stance, Passing, Catching, Footwork, Stick Protection, and Change of Direction.

Led by Dylan Maltz:

Dylan Maltz played youth lacrosse in the NVYLL for Eastern Loudoun and then attended Stone Bridge High School in Loudoun County. From there he went on to attend Syracuse University. He then transferred to the University of Maryland where he started every game of his career going to 3 straight National Championships. His senior year he won the 2017 National Championship.

Players must come with proper equipment:

- Mouthguard

- Helmet

- Shoulder pads

- Arm pads

- Gloves

- Lacrosse Stick

- Rubber Cleats Recommended

Boys 8U Spring 2023

Boys 8U Modified Field Divisions

Spring 2023 Birth Dates Between 9/1/2014 through 8/31/2016

Program Description:

The 8U modified field games are played on half fields to maximize the amount of time the players have with the ball and to support development of stick skills.

This is a non-competitive age division devoted to player development. The games are not scored. The coaches and referees take an instructional approach. The games consist of two 25 minute halves of running time. This means that the clock does not stop when the ball goes out of bounds or after goals.

Practices for 8U teams are held twice a week beginning in March and games are played at on Saturdays beginning in late March.

Boys 10U Spring 2023

Program Description:
 
The 10U division consists of both full-field and modified-field teams.  Rosters are based on registration and player evaluations. Full field games are played on full fields and the games are scored. Modified games are played on a half-field, and the games are scored.  The 10U age group players will participate in player evaluations to ensure proper team placement. 
 
Practices for all 10U teams are held twice weekly beginning in March and games are played on Saturdays beginning in late March.
 

The games consist of four 10 minute quarters of running time in the first three quarters. This means that the clock does not stop when the ball goes out of bounds, during penalty calls or after goals. The fourth quarter is running time except for the last two minutes. The last two minutes are played stop time which means that the clock stops when the ball goes out of bounds, after goals and during penalty calls.

This group does not attend player evaluations.  Practices are held once a week beginning early March and games are played on Sundays.
